Senior security leadership, fractional or interim.
Own your security strategy, compliance direction, and customer security answers without the cost or lead time of a full-time hire, or bridge the gap when your CISO leaves and we run the search for the next one.
Ongoing leadership, or a bridge with an exit.
Fractional vCISO

Cover the seat now. Hire the right person next.
When your CISO leaves or a deal suddenly needs one, the danger isn’t just the gap, it’s panic-hiring the wrong full-timer. We remove both problems.
We step in as acting CISO
Near-full-time. The program keeps running, the board stays calm, and customers, auditors, and your team have someone accountable.
We run the search
We scope the role to what you actually need, screen candidates, and sit in the interviews, so you hire the right person, not the fastest one.
We hand off and leave
A clean transition to your permanent CISO, context, program, relationships, and documentation. Then we’re done.
The job, concretely.
Whether fractional or interim, this is what the seat covers.
Strategy & roadmap
A security plan tied to your actual risks and customer demands, not a generic checklist.
Compliance direction
Which framework, what scope, what evidence, and a clear read on readiness.
Customer security
Questionnaires, security reviews, and trust conversations handled for you.
Risk decisions
A maintained risk register and documented, defensible risk acceptance.
Vulnerability oversight
Regular review of what the scanners find and what to fix first.
Board & exec reporting
Clear summaries leadership can read, central to interim engagements.
Common questions.
What is a vCISO?
A virtual Chief Information Security Officer is a senior security leader you hire on a retainer instead of full-time. They own your security strategy, compliance direction, risk decisions, and customer security questions, at a fraction of a full-time hire.
What’s the difference between fractional and interim?
Fractional is ongoing leadership when you don’t plan to hire a full-time CISO, a few days a month, indefinitely. Interim is a bridge: near-full-time coverage for a defined window, usually because your CISO left or you suddenly need one for a raise, deal, or board. With interim, we also run the search for your permanent hire and hand off to them.
Do you really help us hire our own replacement?
Yes, that’s the point of interim. We scope the role, screen candidates, sit in interviews, and hand off cleanly once your permanent CISO starts. Most fractional CISOs want the retainer forever; we’re built to work ourselves out of the seat.
How much does it cost?
Fractional retainers start at $2,000/month and scale to $12,000+/month by how much hands-on execution is included. Interim is a premium monthly rate for a defined term (typically 3–6 months), with the search and handoff bundled or added on.
Do you also do the remediation, or just advise?
Both, scoped to the engagement. Lightweight plans advise and guide; higher tiers, interim, and our Security Engineering team actually implement fixes. We’re explicit about the line so the cheap plan never quietly becomes unlimited cleanup.
Need a CISO, ongoing or just for now?
Tell us whether you’re covering a gap, hiring a replacement, or never planning to hire, and we’ll recommend fractional or interim.
